I was hanging out at my regular coffee shop, Aqus Cafe, when the owner started shuffling tables into a long row that would seat about 20 on each side. A woman asked if I was there for Speed Networking and, even though I wasn’t, I said, “maybe, what’s that?” Turns out speed networking is much like speed dating, minus the kissing. It’s a rapid-fire elevator pitch that you have a minute and a half to give before switching seats like musical chairs. I left with a stack of business cards, some of them useful, and a new expereince under my belt.
