Day 1 – Eixample
After the most memorable time in London, we arrive late at uber-trendy
The Mirror Hotel in Eixample. I hear they are all decked out in…mirrors. Go figure. There will be just enough time to walk the areas streets and hit
Tapas 24 for a late night snack. Maybe some sangria?

Day 2 – Sitges
Hopefully there weren’t too many sangrias last night, because today we need to wake up early to take the short train ride to the quaint town of Sitges. I have heard nothing but great things about this little beach town that is a mere 25 miles from Barcelona.
Once we arrive, It will be a necessity to make a quick stop to the top floor of the Museu Romantic where there is a large collection of antique dolls. A room full of dolls may actually creep me out. That is why I have to see it with my own eyes.
A quick lunch will be had at Elpou, then it’s back to Barcelona to head East for some zorbing at
Sphermania. Rolling down a steep hill inside of a huge plastic ball sounds like fun. Right?
Day 3 (Easter) Montjuic & Ciutat Vella
Holiday tradition immersion will take place in the early day by attending the La Burreta parade in the Ciutat Vella. This parade commemorates the arrival of Jesus in Bethlehem.
Then it’s off to see the Font Magica de Montjuic to witness the over 4,500 coloured lights sparkling this “magic fountain”. I wonder how this will compete with the fountain at the Bellagio in Las Vegas?
Soon after, it will be a short walk to Tablao de Carmen to partake in tapas and a flamenco show. I could not force Peter to actually dance, so watching will just have to do. He has told me now that he is married he no longer has to dance. Hmm.

Day 4 – Barri Gotic
After breakfast at the Mirror Hotel, we will be taking a 2-hour Segway tour, with Barcelona Segway Glides, through historic Barcelona. I’m hoping those things don’t tip over. I’m clumsy. Segwaying is sure to build up an appetite that pintoxs, a buffet style dining experience, at Sagardi should cure. Each item has a toothpick in it and they charge you based on how many toothpicks are on your plate. I’m taking bets on how many we can rack up?
Later that evening we will be meeting up with fellow life lister Danny, from
Life Listed at Bar Marsella to share some absinthe and bucket list stories. Anyone else want to join in?

Day 5 – More Barri Gotic
We will spend most of the day learning how to cook seafood paella, at Cook & Taste. I’m hoping it is similar to making risotto since I do that everyday at our restaurant. But I have a feeling there is a special Spanish trick to it. Maybe extra love. Luckily (or maybe not) we will be eating our lesson for lunch

How would you spend five days in Barcelona?
Disclosure: Sponsors for this trip include, The Mirror Hotel, Sphermania, Barcelona Segway Glides and Tableo de Carmen, but all the words I write come straight from my, sometimes distorted, mind. Just as it should be.
